While in Vienna, I took a day-trip tour to Salzburg, which is the birth home of Mozart. Salzburg was also the place where Sound of Music filmed some of their scenes. One of the ladies on the tour was so excited (like a Kid on Christmas morning) that she couldn’t contain herself. She began to sing the ‘do-re-mi’ song… the entire song! She told us that she sings in her church choir, as if to say that’s why I sound so good… nah, LOL Some of the grounds in Vienna and Salzburg had the shape of musical notes in honor of Mozart.
On the ride there, we could see mountains in the distance, and got a chance to stop by once we got closer. There was a beautiful scenery around a lake.
Once arriving into the Old Town, we were lead through by our guide and provided with the history of the place. However, we had 1 1/2 hours on our own to explore. There was a lot of nice sights to see.
The ride to Salzburg was a bit too long. At the time of booking, I didn’t know the ride would be was almost 4 hours. And that the tour guide would talk on and on and on!!!! Usually when you have a long drive, the tour guide will take a break and start again once you arrive. This guy just wouldn’t stop. On the way back I put in my airpods and listened to music. There couldn’t possibly be anything else he needed to say about Austria.
