I stayed 5 days at the Crowne Plaza Airport, which was not actually near the airport (15 minutes away). The hotel was really nice and across the street from a park that was good for a morning walk.
After watching so much British TV, I have wanted to visit Dublin. I thought if I ever go back to Europe, I’m going to visit Dublin… and I did… yea me!!!
Another reason for visiting Dublin was catching up with new friends. When I was in Brussels, Belgium I met a group of nice ladies who were in town for the day. We were on a walking tour of the city and got a chance to spend a lot of time together and get to know one another. We exchanged numbers with me saying I would contact them when I was in their city. I originally was planning to visit in May 2026 when it would be warm, but my itinerary changed with me going there sooner. So before I arrived in Dublin I texted one of the ladies and she immediately set-up a lunch and tour experience. Paula and Caroline picked me up at the hotel and we had lunch at the Malahide Castle and later toured the castle and garden. It had started raining while we were in the castle and I was thinking that we would call it a day. However, I’ve learned that a little rain does not stop the folks in Dublin from enjoying their day. You’ll see the rain in the pictures below.
I spent the remaining time in Dublin doing some sightseeing of the city and trying to stay dry and warm. Because of the cooler weather I had to purchase some warm weather clothing.
I would definitely recommend that you visit Dublin when you can.
